An opportunity to learn new skills, use or improve existing ones
Jill Hughes, SIL Data Officer
‘I became a volunteer after deciding to return to work. I was looking for a new career path and thought this would help me decide what I would like to do, while gaining new experiences and to give me the opportunity to develop my skills. I was quickly made to feel a valuable member of the team, given varied tasks and I received great support. It’s good to be part of an important, informative and worthwhile service. Since then I gained paid employment at Sheffield information Link. I enjoy my role in the organisation and continue to learn and develop in order to support the service we provide.’
Are you looking for rewarding voluntary work with a caring organisation?
We are working with the Daycare Trust to recruit a team Parent Champions to volunteer in their local community. We’re looking for parents who have had positive experiences using childcare and early learning activities and who are confident in speaking to other parents. By joining our friendly team for 5 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months you can help us to make a real difference to the lives of children and families in Sheffield.
Travel and lunch expenses (where applicable) will be met. All volunteers will be subject to a full enhanced CRB check (free of charge).
